The President of the Olympic Committe of Serbia Vlade Divac (basketball legend and former Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings player) hosted the delegation of the European Chess Union lead by the President Silvio Danailov.

Apart from president Danailov, the Secretary general of the ECU Sava Stoisavljevic and Executive Director Vladimir Sakotic were the part of the delegation, as well as the president of the Serbian Chess Federation Miodrag Vukotic and grandmaster Natasa Bojkovic, the delegate of the SCF in the OCS .

Danailov informed the host about the European Chess Union Board meeting and the decisions that were made during the last two days, about the future plans and activities. During the meeting, special attention was given to the development and popularisation of chess among young people. Divac gave his full support to the activities and stated that the Olympic Committee of Serbia will do the best to help with the application of the projects for receiving support in the international funds.

Silvio Danailov gave special attention to the support of the European Chess Union to the Serbian Chess Federation for becoming  a full member of the Olympic Committee of Serbia. Divac confirmed that he personally will support that decision, immediately after the new sports law is passed, which is about to happen soon.

At the end of the cordially and friendly meeting, Vlade Divac gave Silvio Danailov a present and invited him to a Euroleague basketball match Real Madrid – Partizan Belgrade on 19 January, 2011 in Madrid.
